Being a ride leader is also an opportunity to stay fit and live a healthy lifestyle. By actively participating in rides and keeping up with the group, you'll find yourself enjoying an extra jump in your step. It's a fantastic way to maintain your health and become your best self physically.
RIDE LEADERS ARE THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL TEAM
Our practices aren’t contained within painted lines on a field or a court like other sports. Our playground is the mountains...and we have over 200 athletes on our team. We can’t have a successful or safe practice without A LOT of help.
WE NEED RIDE LEADERS OF EVERY SKILL LEVEL AND ABILITY
We are looking for Ride Leaders who can ride with our fastest kids, our slowest kids, and every one in between. Even if you are new to mountain biking but want to help, we will get you trained and ready to lead!
PRACTICE GROUPS
Our governing bodies, NICA and the Utah League, require us to have at least one Ride Leader for every six riders. Riders and Ride Leaders will be assigned to ride groups based on ambition, skill, and speed. We will need Ride Leaders for both the DEVO Team (grades 7-8) and the High School Team (grades 9-12). We reserve the right to limit the size of our teams based on how many Ride Leaders commit to helping us each year. We will cancel a practice if we can’t meet the required ratio for that practice. Even if you are only able to help once a week, or every other week – we need you!
Due to NICA insurance regulations and for the safety and success of our riders, all Ride Leaders are required to complete the following:
COACH LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Our governing body NICA requires all Ride Leaders be certified as Level 2 Coaches to lead a group of no more than 6 riders.
